The game went into extra time with Spain taking the initiative and looking the most likely to grab a winner. However the Lionesses dug in and held on for penalties.
England missed two and Spain missed three with an inspired Hannah Hampton saving two spot kicks before Chloe Kelly stepped up to take the decisive penalty. With her trademark hop, skip and hit technique, Kelly lashed the ball into the net for victory to seal back to back European Championships for England.
