This print is the perfect gift for any Bristol Rovers fan as an iconic football moment is captured in this classic book cover poster.
This version illustrates all 7 (SEVEN) Bristol Rovers goals against Scunthorpe United on the final day of the 2022 League Two season. Amazingly it saw The Gas promoted to League One on goal difference.
Rovers started the day knowing they had to score five more goals than promotion rivals Northampton Town. Northampton won 3-1 away to Barrow, so Rovers had to score an improbable seven goals!
At halftime Rovers were 2-0 up with an own goal from Oliver Lobley and a Connor Taylor header. In the second half Joey Barton's side tore forward and soon were three up when Aaron Collins scored. Then Anthony Evans scored twice before Collins bagged his second of the day. It was 6-0 to the hosts but they needed one more to leapfrog Northampton Town and complete a miracle. In the 85th minute the miracle happened!
Elliot Anderson headed home at the far post and the Memorial Stadium erupted. A pitch invasion delayed the game for almost 20 minutes nearly causing the match to be postponed. Joey Barton, of all people, calmed down the crowd so the game could restart. If Rovers conceded a single goal they would drop back into the play-off places. The Pirates held firm and secured the seven goal win and completed one of the most amazing results in football history.
Each poster will be posted in a sturdy postal tube to ensure safe delivery to your home.
