On a raucous night of Cup football, Saints were just too good for Pompey as they won the South Coast Derby for the first time at Portsmouth since 1984. It was the first meeting between the two sides in 7 years and one that all Saints fans will remember.

After a couple of early Pompey chances, Danny Ings opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a fantastic shot from the edge of the area. Ings doubled the lead just before half time with a composed close range finish. In the 77th minute Ings again was key as he set up a chance for Cedric Soares to fire home to make it 3-0. All that remained was for Nathan Redmond to show his speed as he raced from the half way line to fire home a long range effort and complete the perfect night for the visitors.

The title of the book 'One team in Hampshire' is the famous song sung by the winning fans at the South Coast Derby.
