Then in the 35th minute Pontus Jansson played a ball down the left wing from inside his own area for Toney to chase. The striker let the ball bounce before playing a first time pass perfectly into the path of Mbeumo who held off Luke Shaw before curling home.
The final score was 4 - 0 in a match where the Bees had demolished their glamorous visitors in a first half display that will go down in Brentford folklore.
The title of the book “It’s Four!” is taken from the live Sky Sports television commentary.
