This scoreline edition illustrates the late winner scored by Chloe Kelly for England against Italy in the Euro 2025 Semi-Final in Switzerland.
The underdogs, Italy, took a shock lead in the first half when Barbara Bonansea scored. England pushed hard for an equaliser but all looked lost for the defending champions as the clock ticked into the last minute of injury time. In the 96th minute the ball was played into the area by a tireless Lauren Hemp. The ball just missed Beth Mead's head but was parried by Italian goalkeeper Laura Giuliani into the path of super sub Michelle Agyemang. The Arsenal striker took a touch before powering home an unstoppable shot to save the Lionesses and take the game into extra-time.
In the final minute of extra-time Beth Mead was wrestled to the floor for an England penalty. Up stepped another substitute, Chloe Kelly. With her trademark hop, skip and hit penalty routine Kelly smashed the ball towards goal only for Giuliani to save. Ever alert Kelly was the first to react and pounced on the rebound to fire home. England had done it, the Lionesses were through to another Euro Final and had a chance to retain the trophy they had won in 2022.
