Championship side Coventry City took a deserved lead against their Premier League opponents early in the second half when Ellis Simms struck. The Sky Blues had the better chances to extend their lead but Wolves struck twice in the 83rd and 88th minute with goals from Aït-Nouri and Bueno. It looked as though the home side had snatched an undeserved victory and were heading to Wembley.
Coventry City never gave up and it was Simms again who headed home deep into injury time to level and it looked as though the game was heading into extra time. As the clock ticked into the 100th minute Callum O'Hare played a ball into the box to Ellis Simms. The striker laid the ball into the path of Haji Wright who curled the ball past Sá in the Wolves goal.
Coventry City had won through to only the second FA Cup Semi Final in the clubs history. The only other time was in 1987 where the Sky Blues went on to lift the famous trophy!
