England slipped to 27-9 before being dismissed in 20.4 overs. It was only a quick fire 33 by tail ender Craig Overton that got England's total past fifty! Trent Boult starred with an impressive 6-32 and Tim Southee bagged 4-25 as five English batsmen made ducks, equalling another unwanted England record. England also became only the fifth side to be bowled out in the first session of a Test. New Zealand went on to post a score of 427 - 8 in their first innings with Kane Williamson scoring 102 and Henry Nicholls an unbeaten 145. The Kiwi's then bowled out England for 320 in the second innings to wrap up an impressive win of an innings and 49 runs.
