This print is the perfect gift for any England Cricket fan as an iconic moment is captured in this classic book cover poster.

The moment illustrated is the final ball of the greatest game of cricket... EVER!

England v New Zealand in the Cricket World Cup Final 2019 had absolutely everything. The match at Lords was all level after 50 overs with both teams scoring 241 runs. It was to be decided with a Super Over. Both teams had to score as many runs from six balls with only 2 wickets allowed.

England batted first with Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler smashing 15 runs. New Zealand had to score 16 runs to win the trophy. If they scored 15, England would win due to the fact that the hosts had scored more boundaries during the match. Jofra Archer was the chosen bowler and the rookie 24 year old had the hopes of a nation on his shoulders. His first ball was a wide to Jimmy Neesham. He would have to bowl a further six balls and New Zealand were already on 1. His second ball was hit for 2 runs, the third smashed for six. New Zealand were 9 for 0 after two balls. Neesham struck the third and fourth balls for 2 runs each.

The equation now was 3 runs to win from 2 balls. The penultimate ball was hit for one run leaving Martin Guptill needing 2 runs from 1 ball to win the World Cup. Guptill hit the final ball out to Jason Roy who fielded in the deep. As the New Zealand batsmen scampered back for the match winning run the ball was thrown to the wicket keepers end. Jos Buttler gathered the ball and smashed the stumps with Guptill short of the crease. Guptill was run out and England had won in the most dramatic of games.

The title of the poster 'Champagne Super Over' is taken from numerous headlines used for this historic cricket match. A pun on the classic Oasis song 'Champagne Supernova'.

Each poster will be posted in a sturdy postal tube to ensure safe delivery to your home.
