Taking on the Manchester United team single handedly, Wanchope strode into the box and shot past Schmeichel. United pulled a goal back early in the second half through Eric Cantona but Dean Sturridge restored the two goal lead in the 75th minute only for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to reply instantly. Derby County held on to record a famous 3-2 win at Old Trafford in a game that will always be remembered for Wanchope's amazing individual effort.
