Liverpool however had other ideas as Jurgen Klopp's super Reds destroyed the Catalan giants in 90 minutes of breathless football. Divock Origi opened the scoring from close range after seven minutes as Liverpool led 1-0 at the break. The Reds needed three more goals to progress and could not afford Barca a goal. Georginio Wijnaldum scored twice in the space of two minutes early in the second half and the game was all square on aggregate 3-3. In the 79th minute Trent Alexander-Arnold took a quick corner after initially looking like he was walking away from the set piece. The quick thinking of the 20 year old caught out the Barcelona defence and Origi finished sublimely with a first time finish. Liverpool were now 4-3 ahead on the tie and heading towards the Champions League Final for the second year in a row. The final whistle sounded, the comeback was complete and Anfield was in dreamland.
