In an intense afternoon of Rugby Union, Ireland gained a 8-12 half time lead and extended it to 8-17 after halftime with a try from James Lowe. England however roared back with tries from George Furbank and Ben Earl to take a 20-17 lead.
With eight minutes remaining Lowe again scored in the corner to give the visitors a two point lead. The missed extra points from Jack Crowley would prove crucial as England worked their way upfield. With a penalty advantage and the clock in the red, Danny Care in his 100th Test Match for England passed the ball back to Marcus Smith. The fly-half slotted the drop goal between the posts and Twickenham celebrated a truly epic win.
