Dennis Bergkamp Hat Trick goal for Arsenal against Leicester City in 1997 - Football Print - Classic Book Cover Poster (Various Sizes)
An iconic football moment is captured in this classic book cover poster.
This version depicts the sublime finish by Dutch football genius Dennis Bergkamp against Leicester City at Filbert Street in 1997 to complete a memorable hat-trick.
In a topsy turvy match Bergkamp scored twice to give Arsenal a 2-0 lead (his first a superb curling effort from the edge of the area). In the 84th minute Emile Heskey pulled one back. Then in the 93rd minute the Foxes equalised when Matt Elliott's deflected shot hit the net.
Straight from kick off Arsenal retook the lead with Bergkamp's sublime third. David Platt played a 40 yard ball into the box which Bergkamp controlled. He then flicked the ball across his body, past defender Matt Elliott before slotting home across Kasey Keller in the Leicester goal. It should of been the winner but amazingly Leicester City still had time to grab a 96th minute equaliser with a header from Steve Walsh.
The game ended 3-3 and Dennis took the match ball home after completing his first hat-trick for the Gunners.
The title of the book 'A truly high class hat-trick' is taken from the Sky Sports commentary by Martin Tyler.
