An iconic football moment is captured in this classic book cover poster.

This version depicts one of the many classic goals scored by Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier aka Le God. My first Le Tissier beauty (there will be more to come) is his long range effort against Blackburn Rovers in 1994.

After jinking past a couple of Rovers players in midfield Le Tissier hit a curling effort from 40 yards that dipped over ex-teammate Tim Flowers in the Blackburn goal. On a documentary called 'Legends of the Barclays Premier League' (see link below), Le Tissier himself names this as his favourite goal he scored in his career. Ex-Blackburn Rovers player Kevin Gallacher also recalls how in the pre match warm up Le Tissier told Tim Flowers, not only that he would score a goal, but he would hit Flowers towel which the goalkeeper used to hang in the net behind him to wipe his gloves. If you watch the goal closely you will see the ball hits the towel, now that is the work of a true footballing genius!
