On an epic day for the Championship side, Seb Drozd gave Queen’s Park a shock lead in the 69th minute (a design of the goal is available in this store). Rangers won a penalty in the last minute of injury time and looked set to level the tie. Tavernier stepped up but Queen’s Park goalkeeper and captain, Calum Ferrie, guessed the right way with a fantastic save which he celebrated wildly.
From the resulting corner Ferrie once again pulled out a world class save to deny the home side. The final whistle blew and Queen’s Park had caused a huge upset by knocking out their illustrious neighbours.
The title of the book ”Tavernier… Saved by Ferrie!” is taken from the live Premier Sports commentary.
