Glenn Hoddle Farewell Goal for Tottenham Hotspur v Oxford United in 1987 - Classic Book Cover Poster - Football Gift (Various Sizes)
This print is the perfect gift for any Tottenham Hotspur fan as an iconic football moment is captured in this classic book cover poster.
This version depicts the last goal by Glenn Hoddle for Spurs in his final league match at White Hart Lane in 1987. A goal which Hoddle describes as his all time favourite for his beloved Lilywhites. The game was against Oxford United and Spurs ran out 3-1 winners. The goal came in the 90th minute, and what a way to say farewell to the White Hart Lane faithful. The ball was headed out of the Spurs area by Richard Gough and Hoddle picked it up inside his own half. Hoddle ran towards goal and was faced by three Oxford United defenders. With a drop of the shoulder Hoddle nutmegs the defender in front of him and races past all three. With only the keeper to beat Hoddle dummies a shot leaving the U's goalkeeper on the ground before going around him and rolling the ball into an empty net. All that was left for Hoddle to do was blow a kiss to his adoring fans. It was the perfect way to say goodbye from one of Tottenham's greatest ever players.
