But it was the save in the 87th minute that will be remembered in Wembley folklore. Schmeichel pulled off one of the great saves in FA Cup Final history to deny Mason Mount an equaliser. Diving sharply to his left to palm a fierce shot around the post. Chelsea thought they had snatched a last minute equaliser before it was disallowed by VAR. The final whistle blew and Brendan Rodgers' Leicester City had finally won the FA Cup. Captain Schmeichel lifted the trophy with club legend Wes Morgan on a truly glorious day for the Foxes.
