The match went into extra time and the Shrimpers regained the lead when Leon Chambers-Parillon headed home. In the 110th minute James Norwood brilliantly finished by rounding the goalkeeper to level the scores once again. Minutes later Kian Harratt swung in a cross which bounced in the area and ended up in the far corner of the net.
Oldham Athletic had come from behind to lead for the first time in the match. It was a lead that they held and as the full time whistle blew the Latics fans erupted in celebration as their team was promoted to the EFL.
