The Ligue 1 side stunned Old Trafford in the 104th minute when Cherki gave them a 3-2 lead on the night and a 5-4 lead overall. It got worse in the second half of extra time as Lacazette scored from the spot to give Lyon a 6-4 lead overall with only 11 minutes remaining.
Man Utd then were given a lifeline when they were awarded a spot kick, which Bruno Fernandes slotted home. As the clock ticked into the final minute of extra time Kobbie Mainoo curled home a stunning equaliser to make it 4-4 on the night and 6-6 on aggregate.
With penalties on the horizon the unthinkable happened. Casemiro played the ball into the area and Harry Maguire, who was playing up front, met the ball at the far post with an unstoppable header to complete a miraculous comeback. United had scored three goals in the final 11 minutes of extra time to win the game 7-6 on aggregate and book there place in the Europa League Semi-Final.
