I am producing a set of book cover posters in the style of classic paperbacks, that commemorate classic goals for many of English footballs great teams. Each cover will illustrate the chosen goal and use a line from the TV commentary that in most cases have become iconic and much repeated by fans.
This poster depicts the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final of 2009 between Luton Town and Scunthorpe United at Wembley. The match was one of the best games of football seen at the rebuilt Wembley as Claude Gnakpa scored an extra-time winner in the 95th minute.
The five goal thriller saw both sides take the lead only to be pegged back before Gnakpa lobbed the goalkeeper in extra time to secure a 3-2 victory for the Hatters.
The title of the book “Gnakpa’s got the touch” is taken from the TV commentary for the game.
Each poster will be posted in a sturdy postal tube to ensure safe delivery to your home.
