This version depicts the fantastic volley scored by İlkay Gündoğan in the 2023 FA Cup Final for Manchester City against rivals Manchester United. The goal was the fastest ever FA Cup Final goal clocked at 12.91 seconds and set City on the road to glory.
In the first ever FA Cup Final between the two Manchester giants it was City who made the perfect start. Gundogan passed the ball back to goalkeeper Stefan Ortega from the kick off and the City keeper launched the ball forward. Erling Haaland rose to flick the ball on toward Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian midfielder was challenged by United defender Victor Lindelöf who headed the ball across the pitch. As the ball dropped near the penalty area Gundogan hit a perfect first time volley past the hapless David de Gea. United were stunned but came back to equalise with a Bruno Fernandes penalty.
City however looked the more likely and six minutes into the second half regained the lead. Again the German Gundogan struck with a volley and City were ahead 2-1. As the full time whistle blew the Blue half of Manchester celebrated winning the domestic Double. The next stop for City was Istanbul for the Champions League Final against Inter Milan where City would try and secure a historic treble.
