Man City were huge favourites to win against the Black Cats of Sunderland, but had gone behind early in the game. Trailing 1-0 in the 55th minute, Toure received the ball 30 yards from goal and with exceptional class curled a beautiful shot into the top corner of the goal for a sublime equaliser. Within a minute Man City were 2-1 up when Samir Nasri smashed in a wonderful shot to turn the final on its head. In the final minute substitute Jesus Navas added a third to hand Man City the League Cup for the first time in 38 years.
