I am producing a set of book covers in the style of a paperback, that commemorate classic goals for many of footballs great teams. Each cover will illustrate the chosen goal and use a line from the TV commentary that in most cases have become iconic and much repeated by fans.

This edition illustrates the late winner for Northern Ireland against England in a 2005 World Cup Qualifier scored by David Healy.

On a memorable night in Belfast, the home side recorded their first win against England since 1972. With the game all square at 0-0 with only 17 minutes remaining the iconic goal was scored. The ball was cleared by England goalkeeper Paul Robinson only as far a Steve Davis in midfield. Davis controlled the ball and played a delightful pass over the England defence. Healy had curved his run to perfection to stay onside and touched the ball into his path before unleashing an unstoppable shot across the keeper and into the far corner. Windsor Park erupted and the Green and White Army celebrated long into the night after recording a truly remarkable win. Northern Ireland had started the match as 38-1 outsiders and had defied the odds.

The title of the book “It's a good ball…the flag stays down…HEALY!” is taken from the BBC Northern Ireland live television commentary by Jackie Fullerton.

Each poster will be printed, lovingly wrapped and securely sealed into a postal tube before being safely delivered to your door!
