It got even better just before half time as club captain Hector Kyprianou made it two. Mills crossed from the left and Ricky-Jade Jones deflected the ball across the area into the path of Kyprianou. From the edge of the area the captain curled home a beautiful first time finish to put the Posh in dreamland.
United never looked back and deservedly won 2-0 to become the first club to retain the EFL Trophy having won it in 2024.
