This version depicts the opening goal of the fantastic Division One Play Off match between Swindon Town and Leicester City in 1993 at Wembley Stadium. The goal was scored by player manager and footballing genius Glenn Hoddle. It came three minutes before half time and was set up brilliantly by a back heel from Craig Maskell. The game was 1-0 at half time but the second half exploded into life. Swindon went 3-0 up with goals from Maskell and Shaun Taylor. Leicester City however staged a remarkable comeback with goals from Julian Joachim, Steve Walsh and Steve Thompson to make it 3-3. The drama wasn't over however as Swindon won a penalty with six minutes remaining which Paul Bodin slotted home to take the game 4-3 and The Robins were promoted to the Premier League.
The title of the book “The Magic of the Player Manager” is taken from the commentary by ITV Sport.
