I am creating a series of posters in a range called “Movie Classics”. The theme (excuse the pun!) is showing the sheet music of the main title in an illustrative way and celebrating the brilliant composers behind many of the big screens great motion pictures.
This edition illustrates one of the many dark and atmospheric themes from the 1982 Ridley Scott sci-fi classic 'Blade Runner' by Greek composer Evanghelos Odysseas Papathanassiou, better known as Vangelis.
The theme illustrated is entitled 'Memories of Green' The scene depicted is when Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard jumps between two high-rise buildings trying to escape from the replicant Roy Batty played brilliantly by Rutger Hauer. Deckard only just makes the jump and hangs precariously off the edge of the building by a protruding metal girder.
