However Pep Guardiola's superstars were undone by a spirited Wigan side who scored the only goal of the game in the 79th minute. The goal came as a ball was played down the left wing which City defender Kyle Walker missed and the ever alert Will Grigg ran onto. The striker outpaced the City defence and curled home a shot into the bottom corner of the net for a famous win.
