This is a great gift for any York City fan as an iconic football moment is captured in this classic book cover poster.
This edition depicts the late, late leveller for York City against Rochdale on the final day of the National League season. York City only needed a draw to win the league and gain promotion to the Football League. Rochdale knew a win at home against their visitors would see them finish top in a winner takes all match.
With the game level at 0-0 in the 95th minute Emmanuel Dieseruwe headed home a beautiful outside of the boot cross from Ian Henderson to send the Crown Oil Arena into raptures. Rochdale fans spilled onto the pitch to celebrate their late winner with the players and staff. It took minutes to clear the pitch for the game to restart with The Dale seemingly seconds away from snatching the title from York City.
As the game went into the thirteenth minute of injury time York City pushed forward and Ryan Fallowfield crossed to the far post for Callum Howe to head goal wards. The ball was blocked on the line by a combination of defender and goalkeeper but bounced across to Josh Stones who smashed it towards goal. Again the ball was blocked and cleared, however the linesman flagged that the ball had crossed the line. York City had done it, they had scored in the 103rd minute. Now it was time for The Minstermen fans, players and staff to celebrate wildly on the pitch!
The final whistle blew and York City finished on 108 points, two above their hosts on 106 points to seal promotion to League Two.
The title of the poster 'The 103rd Minute Miracle' is how the game will be remembered.
Each poster will be posted in a sturdy postal tube to ensure safe delivery to your home.
